I am usually not a big fall person in the seasonal aspect-I love to welcome of spring and the new life and the feeling of new garden, flowers, and plants. But I do love fall clothing and fashion. Since jackets are one of my things and all the texture that comes from the heavier fabrics in sweaters and heavier knits autumn is fabulous.
I have been working with vintage and up-cycled fabrics for a long time, and they have the character and feel to make a unique coat or jacket a one of a kind piece. I like to find things in the back of my closet and update with some hand stitching and/or applique to change it up and make it feel more current. A great Scarf or decorative Collar think RBG always work for updating an outfit this time of year.
I always wanted to live in the city (I did live in Dallas for a while) so you could walk around and look at as well as show off all your style and fashion. But I still want to dress in a artisan way and hope others do the same. Since I live in the South and the weather is pretty crazy, we tend to use certain garments over several seasons. So the transition time can last well into the the next couple of months.
I will have my video workshops up soon and will doing an applique and stitching with up styled clothing. You can use a lot of what you already have and add to it is a designer kind of way to update your style. So remember to sign up for the newsletter to keep up to date on all the things coming up this fall
